PTE General

The purpose of this course is to provide students with training in the skills required to achieve their target English language proficiency level in the PTE Academic Test.

There is a strong emphasis on the skills and strategies required to successfully answer the 20 different test item types in the PTE Academic test and achieve the best possible results when students attempt the test.

PTE Academic measures a candidate’s English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a single, short test. There are 20 different question item types in the test, ranging from multiple choice through to essay writing. Successful completion of the test requires a sound understanding of the test format and training in specific test preparation strategies.

By taking the test, candidates can prove their English ability for Australian visa applications as it is accepted by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) for all visa categories and 100% of Australian universities.

A Competent English language proficiency level enables a secondary visa applicant to claim 5 points towards the primary visa applicant’s Expressions of Interest under the General Skilled Migration pathway.  A Functional English language score allows a secondary applicant to avoid the 2nd visa application charge under the General Skilled Migration pathway.
