Employment opportunities
- A Certificate III in light mechanical technology teaches students to perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of light vehicles in an automotive retail, service and repair industry. Graduates will be able to work in occupations such as a Motor Mechanic (General), or as an Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanical Repair Technician.
- A Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis reflects the role of individuals who perform advanced diagnostic tasks in an automotive retail, service and repair industry. The completion of this course allows students to work as an Automotive Heavy Vehicle Master Technician, Automotive Master Technician, Automotive Mechanical Overhaul Technician and a Performance Vehicle Technician.
- A Diploma of Automotive Management reflects the role of individuals who are in a leadership and management position in the automotive industry. The completion of this course allows students to work as an Advanced Diagnostic Technician.
Pathway to PR through Automotive:
Occupations such as motor mechanics are currently eligible for several General Skilled Migration (Points-test) visas, such as Subclass 189, Subclass 190 and Subclass 191. It is on the WA state nomination occupation list.
Lastly, It is possible to obtain a work visa under the employer sponsorship program as well.
VEVS Global will guide you from admission, all the way to skills assessment, graduate visa and permanent residency visa as a motor mechanic.
Entry requirements:
Certificate III in light mechanical technology
- Must be over the age of 18
- Meet ONE of the following academic requirements:
- Completion of Year 11 in a High School Certificate or equivalent
- Certificate III or equivalent,
- Be a mature age
- Meet ONE of the following English requirements:
- IELTS score of 5.0 or higher
- TOEFL score of 35 or higher
- PTE score of 36 or higher
- (CAE) ESOL of 154 or higher
- Evidence that English is the primary language of instruction at the student’s school for the last 2 years, with a satisfactory grade in the language
Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
- Must be over the age of 18
- Meet ONE of the following academic requirements:

- Completion of Year 11 in a High School Certificate or equivalent
- Certificate III or equivalent,
- Be a mature age
- Meet ONE of the following English requirements:
- IELTS score of 5.0 or higher
- TOEFL score of 35 or higher
- PTE score of 36 or higher
- (CAE) ESOL of 154 or higher
- Evidence that English is the primary language of instruction at the student’s school for the last 2 years, with a satisfactory grade in the language
Diploma of Automotive Management
- Must be over the age of 18
- Meet ONE of the following academic requirements:
- Completion of Year 11 in a High School Certificate or equivalent
- Certificate III or equivalent,
- Be a mature age
- Meet ONE of the following English requirements:
- IELTS score of 5.5 or higher
- TOEFL score of 46 or higher
- PTE score of 42 or higher
- (CAE) ESOL of 162 or higher
- Evidence that English is the primary language of instruction at the student’s school for the last 2 years, with a satisfactory grade in the language
